This is my attainable dream system. After years of tinkering it is dialed in, complete, and sounds fantastic. I use it daily to listen to records/streaming music. My family and I use it plenty for casual TV watching on the modestly sized wall-mounted television. (Home theater is downstairs for when I want to lock in.) This system looks good and performs well. It puts a smile on my face every day.
Excellent floorstanding passive speakers with all the detail anyone could want. (I actually EQ a bit of it out.) They are a splurge for sure, but I got a screaming deal on them while working at a hi-fi shop. (They also look like spaceships. Your mileage may vary. I adore them.)
The WiiM Ultra is a ridiculous value. Tons of config options, decent room correction, good EQ with tons of presets, sub out with crossover. Nothing comes close to this for the price. It streams anything under the sun besides Apple AirPlay. It's OK, I have an Apple TV in the chain for that. The WiiM app is easy to use and has tons of features. Honestly, the rest of the hi-fi world should be embarrassed by how good this whole thing is.
Another value play that's hard to beat. These aren't exactly cheap, but for the price little else puts out this much absurdly clean power. And they're small. They push 120 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 240 watts per channel into 4 ohms. Support speaker impedances of 4, 6, and 8 ohms. Inputs include analog RCA stereo and analog XLR stereo. The amplifiers generate some heat during operation, so I have active cooling in the cabinet.
This is a great starter table. Not cheap, not expensive. Could be the last table many people will need. Direct drive turntable with selectable speeds of 33.33, 45, and 78 RPM. Wow and flutter specification is less than 0.2% WTD at 3 kHz per JIS standard. Includes built-in phono stage with 36 dB gain. Outputs include analog RCA stereo and USB audio. There's a built-in phono stage but it is... not great. Which brings me to...
A simple and excellent product from Schiit. Solid-state phono preamplifier with selectable gain settings of 35, 45, 50, and 60 dB. Sounds fantastic.
Incredible low-frequency response in a tiny package I can fit in my room. Most people don't even see it. Comes in white. It is not cheap, but nothing else in this form factor compares. Sealed subwoofer with 800 watts RMS and 2500 watts peak amplifier power. Frequency response extends down to 23 Hz. Inputs include subwoofer RCA and analog RCA stereo. Outputs include analog RCA stereo passthrough. SVS has an excellent tuning app, but I don't use it with the WiiM Ultra in the signal chain.
